As part of his plans to mobilize the grassroots to sustain power for the New Patriotic Party 2020 in Abuakwa North Constituency, Mr Kofi Obeng Mensah (KOM), parliamentary aspirant, has on the 7th of April, 2020 enrolled three hundred and sixty (360) out of four hundred and seventeen (417) delages in the constituency begining April 2020 with SAHAM Insurance as welfare scheme.
The package he said, costs five thousand four hundred Ghana Cedis(Ghc 5,400) per month.
We all know that elections are won at the polling stations, therefore, the polling station executives must be empowered to deliver their mandate.
Sometimes the polling station executives find it difficult to mobilize funds in times of paying hospital bills, marriage and funeral ceremonies etc hence the need to enroll them on the welfare scheme as life insurance package” Mr Obeng Mensah explained.
The stout parliamentary hopeful for Abuakwa North Constituency mentioned that, having interacted with the polling station executives for over two(2) years and also understudied the plight of the grassroot person, he and his team has come up with a policy dubbed ” Grassroots First, Community Assured”.
He said, the plight of the grassroot person has been underserved hence the need to turn the binoculars on them.
Mr Kofi Obeng Mensah indicated three(3) thematic policies to champion the grassroots mobilisation.Namely, grassroots welfare scheme, job search and job creation and logistics and logistical improvement.
Mr Kofi Obeng Mensah is a pharmacist by profession, he has since filled his nominations and cleared to contest Abuakwa North NPP Primaries slated for April 25th, 2020 together with Lawyer Kay Amoah Jnr, Lawyer Serwah Acheampong and the incumbent, Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo.
